When he was first born, doctors said Carey Poindexter’s asthma condition was so bad that he wouldn’t live to reach age 10. The 14-year-old has defied the odds and he now brings awareness to asthma, lung disease and other respiratory issues through Fighting for Air, an education and fundraising program that benefits the American Lung Association.
