Moving from the Philippines to the United States was a big change for Grace Punzalan.

“At first I had a big problem adjusting,” the high school student tells Live Life and Win.

So she became more involved with her school and community was a way to make the adjustment easier. One of the programs that means the most to her is the Dream Project Club, where she has helped to raise more than $1,000 to support breast cancer awareness with the Pink Walk–a charity event that involves students, teachers and members of the community.

But Grace says there are more ways that she wants to help resolve local and international problems.

“We have seven goals,” Dream Project Club president Grace adds, “eradicating poverty and hunger, ensuring environmental sustainability, combating AIDS and HIV and breast cancer, also promoting awareness and global partnerships.”
